Mt Thor first ascent by Aussies
(from CCA) Chris Warner, Chris Fitzgerald and Nathan Kuthakas, all current or previous Canberrans, have put up a new route on the majestic Mt Thor on Baffin Island. The route is on the left side of the west face and roughly 1200 metres long. The two Chris' and Nathan walked 90 kilograms of gear each roughly 150 kilometres to get to the wall, and then spent 14 days on the wall completing the route. The route, "Flaming Dinner Plates", has been given a grade of 20 A3+ R. The boys then completed a successful descent via paraglider.
