Just went to the WC webpage and this notice came up

IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE
HELIUM KARABINER RECALL
In house testing has revealed a potentially serious problem with some
HELIUM KARABINERS. Wild Country are requesting the immediate return of all
HELIUM KARABINERS AND QUICKDRAWS marked with the following batch codes:
AAA, AAB, AAC, AAD, AAE, AAF

I don't know to what extent this will effect Australians. I'm not even sure
that any shipments of Heliums have arrived in the country yet.

i saw the recall too several months ago and just recently saw the biners still being sold online in the US!?

Only some are affected - the early serial numbers were recalled. Hopefully
they weren't the ones being sold.

Anyone find out what the problem is with the recall?

i reckon WC would keep that pretty closely guarded at least for now

Wild country publicised the reason for the recall along with the recall notice. It had to do with the steel pin not being peened over correctly. A very small amount of these biners is out there with this defect. The pin of which I speak is the pin at the nose of the biner. If you look at the pin and how it is secured through the alloy of the biners nose you will see that the pin is peened much like how old style rivets were hammered into place.

What was happenning was that the pin would work its way out of its nested location and thus creat an open gate type of scenario with no pin in place to lock the structural integrity into place.
