For anyone who hasn't seen it the guide looks fantastic. Great work Glenn & Simon. The photos look crisp and clear. The topos are great. Maps even better than before and yeah basically all excellent.

PS there are some guides at Altona as of last night. Not sure about the other shops. They were selling like hot cakes.

I can't wait to see my pre-ordered copy arrive some time soon. I don't know if I can wait 4 years though!

All the pre-ordered copies have been posted out. I would suspect that most people would have got them today. If you haven't seen your copy then you can probably expect it to arrive tomorrow. Glenn.

Just checked it out in K2. Bloody impressive and I think the guys that have been waiting will have no problems now after seeing. Definitely worth the wait.

How am I going to rack 5 of those on my harness for protekshunz. If they aren't triple sigma rated then they can't be trusted for pro now can they. More likely they will blow out on the spine at only 3kn instead of the CE rated 12kn. Dodgy pro if you ask me.

Noddys guide was Six Sigma compliant.

And for the record the previous Arapiles selected climbs guide was 454g, that's exactly 1lb.

Echo that - though I haven't bothered to chase it down yet.

Spent about $10 on SMS' with a mate on Friday night mentally adjusting what I can and can't climb at Araps. Oat Energy a 17? Bastards. I swung on that one too many times. 19? You bet your balls.

What knob thought Hell for Leather was a 15? Makes Surface to Air a bit more of a challenge when you step to the right. Two grades? hmmmm.

Can't wait to see what else I was mistakenly climbing at the grade. :)

Love the new guide. Gotta say that the photo topos are ace, with little peoples climbing routes actually snapped in the photo you get a wonderful sense of perspective.

The book is so pretty I'm too scared to take it to Araps in case it gets dirty. Really, a fantastic achievement, the best guidebook I've seen anywhere in the world for production values. Congratulations.

You're right. Well nearly. I weighed the guide again and it was 704g. Looks like I misled everyone when I said it was 680g. I can only suggest that those who believed that it was 680g (and have already lightened their rack to accommodate the guide weight) should leave off an extra couple of RPs or perhaps a spare biner. Either that or you may want to wear slightly less clothing. Mister Gribble.......was your copy signed. I've weighed some of the guides that Simey signed and they appear to be 10g heavier than unsigned copies.
