It sounds like you have an issue with me nick, judging from the hostile remarks you have made, I don't

Even if the weak point was the stitching then it still makes perfect sense!

When you double a sling you a now distributing the forces over four strands rather than 2. So each strand feels only 1/4 of the total force.

Simarly each strand and the bar tacking is only rated for a bit over 11kN, but since slings are used as a loop the entire thing is rated for 22kN.

**This argument ignores the strength reductions made due to the radius, so the strands and bar tacking would be rated over 11kN.

For what its worth I use a figure 8. Simple, reliable. Sure some people might find it a pain in the ass to untie, but I have never had any issues. (maybe I'm too light or not taking big enough falls) But each to their own.

With communication difficulties on forums, this could easily have been taken as a comment to M9 (and not to bp), so maybe I too should join the campfire/campsite love-in?
… much better than sitting here where I am now at least! Can I bring a jaffle iron for cooking with now that fire season is over and we have had some rain?
As long as no-one puts an unopened can of food in the fire I think we should be right...
Heh, heh, heh.

Rod you're more than wellcome to come and help nick through his problems, he seems in dire need of
some therapy, I'm thinking shock might do the trick, but we'll see, I'm doubtfull of any real improvement.
Almost as doubtfull he'll even turn up! it's so much easier to say those sort of things when you are a just
a line of print on a screen, I doubt that he'd have the balls to say that sort of shit to my face.

I go away for a few weeks climbing, log on only to find Bomber n00b is still carrying on with his school yard bully crap, very sad individual. Just because he's questioned his only defence is aggression, who's the person who needs therapy?

so the n00b is trying to say somthing, but a long time ago I decided that you have nothing worth listening
to so I deleted all your comments by selecting the ignore posts button, this is a great function as now all
I see is a small grey blank area, not too disimilar from actually reading whatever you post! fishboys now
in the same garbage bin! thanks Mike this is a great function, I no longer have to suffer idiots or trolls.

So I guess you'll have no idea who chops the bolts on your worthless routes at Araps then, not to mention that mess you created on Alis.

The user name also comes up but not the text.
Easy to try, just tick that box on any given user profile. (You can always change it back again later if you want).

But it might have been a photo with no words.

For the love of God i hope you're not serious....!!!

bp might i have the gall to suggest a less directive/forceful method of putting forward your oppinion, seems to create a lot of unneeded angst.
This thread and some other previous ones seem to get out of hand rather quickly so how bout everyone just relaxes and leaves the personal insults/directives behind.

btw dalai u keeping a tally of how many times that picture has been required? lol!

Sabu, just reread the posts, you will find that I started out by puting forward an opinion, thats all!
When jokers started lieing about weird forces on bowlines, I told them they were wrong, then others
started in on wether or not a sling could be doubled in strenght/holding power I told them they were
wrong, then the insults started coming in, and then some loser wanabes started just insulting with no
good reason other than they are tossers, even prefers knitpicking has had others point out her mistake,
but she has not replied, only interested in having a go, not interested in the truth! the uneeded angst you
percieve is not generated by me I am simply responding to it in kind, reread the posts and see for
yourself.

... now there's a thought.
We can share the angst silent picture fashion.
A bit like going to the old silent movies, and we can rattle our hexes at our own user locations to simulate dramatic tension!
Just need to be careful what knot your hexes are tied with ...
Heh, heh, heh.

Hey Sabu, Just wondering why I was the one singled out by you for a reprimand, when the comments
made by fishboy and probably nOOb, (he's always spraying some offensive shit) were left unmentioned.
Or have you blocked their spray as well? Just seems a bit strange that you were upset by my comments
and not theirs? very one sided, "ja fair enough"

BP-Having read back over this thread I see little evidence of you defending yourself, just examples of you abusing people.

I find this far less abusive than you calling people stupid and slow, and shouting at people who don't agree with you.

I also agree with n00bpwn3r's comments about the mess you made of Alis, please go fix it before someone just nchops it.

This is getting us nowhere. Lets all start showing a little maturity people! Otherwise the time out chair may make an appearance...
