Speed resoling ex Melbourne?

All,
What's the turn-around time on a resoling job ex Melbourne at the moment?
Assuming I ship them to Nati overnight today, is Phil around at the moment?
Or are there quicker options using Big John or others?

Big John is not fast option. I have a pair of shoes dropped for him at my gym 24/11, and hoping to get them back today. Then he says he will be going away for a while from this week - so I wouldn't hold out for a speedy return from him. Not putting him down - Xmas was in there, and I wasn't in a hurry - just setting expectations.

Scotty Dog at Armidale has a great turnaround as standard, and has a 5 day option for a bit extra.

Thanks for the new resole option Cams. My shoes have disappeared into Big John's time warp too many times. Can't understand why they'd want to hang on to something for so long that that smells so bad!

I've had about 7 of my own plus various friends done by Scott including 2 (maybe 3) on one pair of Muira's which came back the best they'd ever been after the last one. Most recently a pair of TC Pro's went in for their first and he also did some nice little trimming and reinforcing around that common weak point these shoes seem to have when used in lots of cracks around the top of the rubber on each side.

Thanks for all the input.
I've since realised the TC Pros I need to resole are sitting in the garage at Halls Gap and won't be back in my hands for another week.
I would have dispatched them to Armidale, but now unless someone can resole in 3 days (as I'm off to Buffalo) it'll have to wait.
These are my oversize and super-comfy jamming/taking beginners shoes. My main concern is the toe cap has a little hole in it and I don't want to trash the leather. Any suggested temporary patches? Shu-goo?

While I have no personal experience in resoling shoes, I'd be slightly concerned that patching a hole could actually cause problems for the next resole if the glue used for the patch bonded to the leather and couldn't be removed. To prevent that, you could try putting a tiny piece of tape over the hole, just large enough to cover any exposed leather, and then put the Shoe Goo or Freesole on in a wider layer over that, so that it only bonds to the rubber.

Shoe goo shouldn't cause any issues.

Big John just posted he did 473 resoles in 3 days! And yes will be away the next 3 weeks...

Speed resoling?
Thatz betta than 1 every 4 mins for 10 hrs straight on 3 days running.
Good effort in my book, provided they dont delaminate.
Kinda tha eqivalent of a Yosday rubba record.

Yes - he also promised me that the shoes I sent him on 28 Nov would be returned before Xmas. Then it was definitely going to be by last Thursday before he went away. Still not back, so presumably I should just wait for 3 weeks for him to come back, and ask him for a new deadline.

I'm not impressed, and will be sending my other shoes to someone else.

It sounds like something might have changed recently at Big Johns - or maybe it's just the post in jobs? Or maybe it's just everyone who knows what to do going on holidays at the same time?

When I was living in Sydney I had maybe 8 or 10 resoles through Big John using the local gym dropoff/pickup, and the service was fast and excellent - perhaps 2 weeks at most turnaround. I'm no longer in Sydney and posted a pair off towards the end of last year. It took about 6-8 weeks and multiple phone messages before they got the resoles back to me. Excellent job as always but it was a pain in the arse not have the shoes so I'll also try somewhere else next time...

Squeaky wheel with big john...just keep calling is how I do it...but yeah can be a PITA...these days i just have two shoes in rotation, so if there is a delay is not crucial.
