Hi,
I'm in the process of constructing a woody in my garage that has a 3.2m height and thought I'd put some decent mats underneath it. (That is in addition to the ones I got from you, Hywel)
I think to get enough padding I'm looking at 300mm thickness. The companies that know about such matters are asking me what density foam I want to use and quoting complicated numbers.
Anyone know about such matters? What do you suggest/recommend?

2 layers of open cell foam mattresses topped with a layer of thin inner-spring mattresses under the high bit of the woody. Lose one layer of foam where your arse is < 1m over the mats, back to a single mattress layer where you sit start. Don't have any gaps lining up through all three layers.
I think I ended up with about 6 doubles and 9 singles. Mattress economics is odd. Crappy ones are free to obtain but expensive to take to the tip (at least that's how it works in Canberra).
I don't think there's any single type of foam which is as plush to fall onto as an innerspring on top of soft open cell.

G'day Steve,
I used a gymnastics mat manufacturer to make a me a proper mat with high density foam in the dimensions that matched my wall. The guy was conveniently located near home.

Not sure if he is still in business though.
Very worthwhile investment.
Hope all is well.
