Hi all,

First post, I came across the below linked belay glasses in my searches, and found that their price is actually reasonable unlike other belay glasses, which has made me consider whether or not they're worth the 25 bucks rather than a series chiropractic sessions?

Oh, where's ODH's post about belay glasses when you need it?

Hi all, long time chocky lurker, first time poster
I actually ordered the Le Pirate belay glasses from the Ali Express site in September. They never arrived and I requested a refund. The seller, rejected the refund and on 25th Nov the seller said 'sorry for the slow response, will be update to u tommorrow' I haven't heard from them since.
Am still trying to get a refund.
Will post an update if the glasses actually arrive, but with the telling silence from the seller, it doesn't look likely.

Also, the seller name in my AliExpress order was 'Fany Chan'
In the link that Vumnoo posted, if you proceed to the Paypal page, it shows the seller as 'Taizhou Rich Eyewear Co.,Ltd.' If you look up this company, the contact is the same person, 'Fany Chan'
So...buyer beware!
Hoping this gets resolved since it potentially look like a good product, but not much good to anyone if the goods never arrive and refund refused.

Thank you for the feedback to this site.

We hope it works out well for you, and if it does, would appreciate further feedback to this site.

At this stage it is ironic that they say on their site;
>We believe that customer have to pay only for what they need, and in a connected world we trust that selling directly from the source is the best choice . We are making efforts all days to give a better customer service and reduce the delivery time.

Eep, I ordered a set before I saw your post! I did provide payment via paypal and hence can raise a paypal dispute should they not make good on the product (locking their paypal account until such time that the dispute is settled). I too will provide feedback once/if they arrive.

I ordered a set of these at roughly the same time as this thread was started. They just arrived yesterday. Not complaining though as shipping was super cheap (may have even been free, can't remember)and kind of expected it to be slow. Product is as advertised, feels decent quality and I like it. They also come with a pretty sturdy hard case. They are heaps cheaper than other glasses on the market so am pleasantly surprised. Haven't tried them out properly yet but they did scare my dog.

My pair arrived a couple of days ago too (must have been in the same shipment). The plastic they're made from has a soft silky rubberised texture and wearing them is quite comfy. The case is indeed solid and you can chuck it in a gear bag without having to worry about them.

Other than that, they look up and make me look silly when I wear them, what more do you want!

My pair of LePirates finally arrived last week! (4 months for delivery, they were ordered in September 2015)
They were broken though, it appears the prisms are attached to the frame by a dot of glue, so should be fairly easy to repair.

In trying to get the issue resolved, a representative of the seller did eventually respond after I sent them a link to my original post in this thread.
"I had an answer from Fany. Unlucky, you She says that another pair of glasses will be sent.
Let me know if that satisfied you because you wanted a refund.
I'm really sorry, more that 99% of packages arrive without issue, but when one doesn't they have a very slow reaction. "

The second pair arrived a few days after the first pair, these were ok (prisms still attached to the frame)
For the price, they are ok, they work.

BTW: I had actually given up on actually receiving the LePirate glasses and ordered the Y&Y Glasses in December, received those a few days after placing the order.
They sent me the plain ones $89.95 instead of the colour ones $99.95 which I ordered. I emailed them and they refunded the price difference promptly.

Comparing the two types:
The Y&Y glasses are much lighter and more comfortable to wear and the optics are far better quality. However they are (after converting USD to AUD) almost 3 times more expensive than the LePirate.

If I had to do it all again, I'd just go with the Y&Y
