I went to Thailand about two months ago. My brand new quick draws got splashed with salt water and now some of them are stiff and don't close by them selves. Is this corrosion?? Are they ruined? I was told if i washed them and oiled them, they would be fine. some of them close now but some are still stiff. Can anyone recommend what to do with them?? Or should i just throw them out??

Brand new Quickdraws you say, yep sound totally screwed I would send them straight to me :-) or you could -
wash in fresh water, dry in the sun and then spray hinge and spring (solid gate) or the bit where the wire meets the body of the draw (wire gates) spareingly with silicone lube. wipe of excess with tissue and use for next 10 years.
try not to get lube on webbing, don't use oil as it attracts dirt. silicone lube is much better and only a little more expensive, can get from any hard ware or motor spares shop. will also sort out any sticky cams too.
option b is better for you
option a is great for me I need new draws

Give the hinges a good scrub with old toothbrush first to get any crud out
