I got my Blue size 0 helium friend stuck yesterday at the start of the top pitch of Beau Geste, Northern Group, Arapiles.

Easy rap in if you're interested. We spent about 15 mins each playing around with it to no avail yesterday. If anyone recovers it they can either have it or I would be happy provide some funding towards their beer fund in exchange for it.

Sorry that you may have lost gear.

What is that thing that looks like a well-used hammer handle in the middle?

My agent reports that it was liberated with minimal effort and is now back in the pines.

Cash or beer?

That does make me a little disappointed that it came out so easily.

I'll email you re. collection.

differential thermal expansion between rock and metal, afternonn and morning, has provided me most of my rack.

I've still needed a crowbar on an occasion to remove a cam in the mornin.

Don't think that would have been appropriate for the poor dude in the boulder tho'.

Actually, they did use a big lever. Bit bigger than a crowbar though:

Just over the shoulders of the CFA guys on the left.

Cool...but way overkill.

After hours of attempts, I don't think anything is really overkill.

Overkill to recover a stuck cam yes, but not a stuck person.

I think we'll call that manoeuvre "teasing the wombat"

Na...the tarp, number of people and shit...not the method, :)

Tarps: Keeping the top of the boulder and hence him dry prevented worse hypothermia

Number of people: When I rocked up the majority of people were holding, pulling or steadying something. Far better to have a few extra hands there than not enough.

Shit: Yes, more shit in the crack might discourage people from entering the squeeze.

and the lingering odour would let you know if someone had been in there

It certainly smelt like rancid olive oil when I went past the other afternoon.

Sadly, I think this rain will erase the worst of it.

You'd be flat out dressing yourself in a onesie with your shoulder the way it is, or do you have some other squeeze test in mind?

Anyway you are already too late, cite the pumpkin onesies with reflective tape in clarkies party pic.
