The products affected by this recall are Classic Rocks and Anodised Rocks, with any of the following batch codes; AG AH BII JBE

Batch code is found on the size label, see links below for details.

Looking at gear sold since January 2010.

Wow. I would imagine this could affect quite a few people, myself included.

Yeah, that's why I gave it its own thread. I'd be interested to see how many people this affects.

I can't remember when I last bought rocks. I have mostly classics (those should be fine) but also a few of the newer anodised ones which may be affected.

Three out of the four new ones I bought in the last few months are in the recall. 2 from B11, 1 from AG

Hi All,
We share your concern regarding the rock recall. The safety of our climbing friends and customers is our major priority.

The good news is that is is a small number of batches and hopefully own't affect too many customers.

We have started a thread with the full details here: http://www.chockstone.org/Forum/Forum.asp?Action=DisplayTopic&ForumID=6&MessageID=25906&Replies=0#NewPost

If you do have any questions or concerns, please respond in the other thread and we will answer anything that we're able to.

If you do need to return any affected units, the quickest option will be to talk to the store you purchased them from. If that is not possible, please don't hesitate to contact us directly ( sales (at) expeditionequipment (dot) com (dot) au )

Regards,
Expedition Equipment.

Mine are the JBE batch. Where "problems that we found were most apparent in Classic Rocks batch JBE"....

Bought from a well regarded Melbourne store.

More than a third of my entire (more than triple set) of anodised rocks ... Bought at diffierent times, different places, in varying degress of well-loved-ness. I can't even tell if some are AC or AG (and I do have both).

I'm curious as to what prompted you to write the part in bold and how that is relevant in this case?

Is there some unofficial manufacturer of Wild Country rocks that supplies less well regarded stores that I don't know about?

Just stating facts pecheur, I decided not to specifically name the store.

It is relevant because I'd expect numerous other people also now hold similar batches bought from that store. Different stores may receive different batches depending on the time of importation. The Intertrek distributor generally imports based on individual store order.

I think they are pretty much all over the world given that I bought mine from either AMS, Rock hardware, Gear Express, Rockclimbing tools, backcountry and the yosemite valley shop. Sadly, you just have to inspect every individual rock (mine cover about 5 different batch numbers including JBE and AG).
