Both head width and the thickness of the stem are kinda large for the small C4s, as pecheur and Andrew have mentioned. I carry the 0.3 anyway because there's a slight gap between the 0.4 and green Alien.

Also, in order to shrink the camalot design down they made the axles too thin. The units are still strong enough, but only because the axles brace against the other set of lobes as they bend. This means that pretty small falls (which would cause no damage to other brands) render the things unusable. Disposable pro........dumb design!

ODH, what sort of size falls are you talking? It's not something I've personally seen (but everyone I climb with is chickensh!t).

I never owned the things but have seen two of them rooted by pretty short falls. It doesn't make them dangerous, just annoying. Combined with the drawback of a too wide head, I don't understand why anyone would buy them........and I suspect that BD will stop making small c4s now that they have a better design on the market.

Not something I'd heard of when I got mine... might just give them a shorter lifespan then I'll replace them with something else.

My 0.3 c4 is the cam I have taken the most falls on - it's still working good as new. In fact I like it the most out of all my cams.... Though that might be more a emotional than logical connection.
