I just use two ziplock bags. I've taken my iPhone kayaking like that and it was fine. I could even use the touch screen through the plastic bags. I've accidentally fully submerged my phone by kicking it out of the car into an overflowing gutter whilst not in a plastic bag and it came back to life a day later fully functioning. They seem pretty hardy to me.

Hey Jon

I'm travelling in Tassie for a few weeks and have been trying to download the app for the past few days but iTunes is telling me that it is no longer available... is there any way you could check this out??

Cheers!

For an ipad, a waterproof map case will hold them.
Again, same as the iphone, the touch pad seems to work fine through the plastic.

I'd be more worried about simply breaking the larger ipad.
Keep the ipad in the vehicle, take the phone with you to the crag.

I have a small pelican type case to put my iphone in so it is safe in my pack.
