well m9, given I'm associating his talents with being god like rather then fame, and i'll assume he's always been talented, then yes, ''fame by association, before his *talent* has been realised'' does count hahaha!

No matter. I am well enough satisfied that mattjr thinks I am a god(!) so I can do without fame before/after the fact. Heh, heh heh.

To the extent of name dropping, yes.
Have been around a while and had interaction with some 'names' along the way. At the end of the day I feel enhanced by their enthusiasm/passion, even if it is a different colour to the life thread I am on, in our collective tapestry of life.
Hey, I just remembered another interaction I recently had with a name.
Simey payed me enough attention to actually devote valuable time and energy to mention me in dispatches on chocky a little while back. Does that count for something in the greater scheme of things*?
(*Then again, I once got a PM from Eduardo Slabofvic, so I guess I am doubly fortunate! Heh, heh, heh.)

Reminds me of the time when I worked for Tim Costello. I had driven him to the Channel Ten studios for a spot he was doing with Bert Newton. We sat around in the green room talking to these three aging americans who were obviously musicians - two men and a really brassy woman with a deep whiskey and cigarettes voice. They were really well informed politically and while Tim went to talk to Bert I chatted with them and we talked about what Paul Keating had done for indigenous relations in Australia. It was all very interesting. When Tim came back from the interview I got up to leave. Tim shook their hands and said. 'It was really great to catch up with you guys again - see you Peter, Paul and Mary.' Yup, I had no idea until he said their names.
