A red and white chopper just went overhead in direction of Albury/Wodonga...
Hope he recovers swiftly after that undertaking which I regard as a ballsy effort, due the horrible landing options available.
Kudos to SES and DC's mob for attending the injured person.

Nicole and I arrived at the gorge as it was all happening. Three climbers from Albury had gone down to the jumper.
He jumped from Wilkinson's lookout, and attempted a lateish opening I'm told by the climbers. The SES said he had broken his legs.

So this is all how it happened.
After months of planning scooby, luke and i were stoked, packed, racked and set to attack ozy easter long weekend. As i was fixing a static over the last pitch this bloke was set base jump from wilkinsons. I heard the chute open from the belay anchors and when id jugged up to Lukey the view looked like he was pretty ordinary.
We bolted back to the car, stripped the rack and aid gear and ran in the cairn track to administer first aid. Emergency services were called then by us. When we reached him he had called the ambos already and the chopper was on its way already. The Paramedic was great and winched in to sort it all out. the chopper then returned to take the whole show onto albury. We then lugged it out with a wet parachute and a haul bag to lament our Ozy ascent until another day. Cudos go to Scooby for top notch first aid skills.

Nice work lads,
Any ideas where he was planning to land? I can't think of anywhere in the gorge where it would be feasible.

As a friend of the injured jumper a huge thanks for the assistance you provided all mate.
It has been jumped before if anybody is wondering and it was unlucky for him that it didn't go quite as planned. He is doing fine in hospital.
have fun on the rock. :)

No worries, I like to think anyone else would do the same if it was me hurt. Good to hear he's doing ok!

Now that I have read further information, well done markq, Scooby & Luke for attending the injured jumper, and foregoing your climb at that time.
~> I trust that karma will reward you when you get back onto Ozy!
