A rock climber suffered leg and back injuries after falling more than 30 metres in the Grampians.
The teenager fell near the Pinnacle lookout in the western Victorian national park on Sunday afternoon, an Ambulance Victoria spokesman said.
He was left stranded on a ledge in inaccessible terrain but was conscious following the fall, he said.
It took a rescue team several hours to reach the injured climber before he could be winched to safety.
An air ambulance took him to the Alfred hospital in a stable condition.

It doesn't sound like a rockclimber.
The herald sun report never mentioned anything about rockclimbing.

A friend posted on facebook that he was nearby but couldn't get to the guy without climbing equipment but did manage to guide the chopper to the right place. He said it was a tourist scrambling around unroped.
