I think the answer is yes given the police reported there was one, but I'm not sure that's the question you meant to ask...

That Vic Police link has a great shot of Maharajah. Hope she's ok.

Or Sultan? Looks to be something orange at the base.

Yes Andrew - that was the question - as I know indirectly people who were meant to be at Buffalo on the weekend and "chockstoners" are generally quick to get news out on accidents.

I hope the injury is not serious.

This report has a few additional details..............

I'm a bit confused John.

You asked "Was there an accident at Buffalo over the weekend?" and then posted links to an article saying there was an accident. Given you answered the question you asked, I was asking if that was indeed the question you meant to ask. Now you say, yes, that is indeed the question you meant to ask which leaves me more confused given you already answered it yourself.

I guess what I'm getting at is that a more useful thread title would've been something like "2015/02/01: Accident at The Cathedral, Mount Buffalo" given that you already know there was an accident, where it was, that a female was involved, etc.

Andrew- you obviously have too much time on your hands. I came across the media link, did not know there had been an accident, and wondered what others knew.

Do you have anything else to add to this thread that is relevant to the accident or know anything about it?

There we go! We finally got to what you actually wanted to ask! Was it really that hard to get that out?

I honestly originally posted because I wasn't sure why the thread title was a question. Why were you asking a question and then seemingly answering it immediately, twice? Did you accidentally hit post before you'd finished it? Was there some arrangement of the words that would've made more sense? Hence I asked if the question you asked was actually the question you meant to ask.

In future, to avoid confusion, it's probably best to put the subject of the thread in the subject (eg. 2015/02/01: Accident at The Cathedral, Mount Buffalo) and then put your information and questions in the body of the message. This would also help people finding things later when searching as the relevant details are in the subject.

If you want, you could edit the first post in this thread and rename it.

>Do you have anything else to add to this thread that is relevant to the accident or know anything about it?

Just the standard note that these forums are read by reporters so we should all keep speculation to ourselves lest we end up quoted in the news.

You boys are getting a bit picky about this.

I think we all knew what John was asking Andrew.

And John, you're smarter than to guess anything about Andrew at all, and what time he has.

I always check on chockstone to get more info on reported accidents but lately there's been this stupid, pedantic bitchiness because people don't like the way someone is formulating a post.. Seriously, grow up guys and if you don't have anything of value to add then don't write anything.

If there is anymore info on who fell, could someone please pm me? Thanks

Yes, the all too frequent and pathetic attempts by some to belittle others, is dragging Chockstone down!! It needs to be dealt with...definitely not healthy for a forum community.

I am sorry we don't meet up to your exacting standards of healthy forum community membership.

Perhaps you should draw up a list of who should be expelled so that the community meets your requirement.

I wouldn't have called Andrew stupid and bitchy! Yes, Andrew is a pedant. A lovely pedant, but nevertheless a pedant. What is so awful about wondering why you ask if there is an accident when you post evidence there was an accident anyway? Some people on this forum can be very unpleasant. I would hardly say Andrew was one of them.

I look forward to further detail should it become available.
The above text makes it sound like the accident occurred on the topout moves (after a re-belay was set up??) ...
