Does anyone else bite chunks out of their knuckles |

I've noticed that I tend to bite my knuckle when I am leading and taking and 'need' to take an extra rope in my mouth to clip. Obviously the best answer is to climb higher, which I would rather do in any lead situation, but sometimes its not always ideal. Has anyone else done this or am I just a gumby

Possibly because I'm slightly tipsy, I am so confused by what you are asking.

So if the draw is as little high, I pull up rope, grab it with my mouth, and occasionally take a chunk out of my knuckle with my teeth. I usually don't notice until I'm back on the ground.

Well that is much clearer now. No, I've never done it.

No but I often suck my thumb and curl up into a fetal position if I get 1 meter above a bolt...does that count?

Yes - but only when I'm really pumped

Yes meters count...
Right, well you have had it good then haven't you!
When I am 25 cm above a bolt, whether or not there is trad protection beside it, I yell out to my belayer to watch me, chalk up, reach up, lower arms, chalk up again, move up, move down, chalk up, tell belayer to watch me-
... and if you try to tell young folk these days about how hard climbing is, they won't believe you!

No, but my teeth have been ripped out by taking a fall when trying to clip with the rope in my mouth.

That's an unusual affliction.. are you climbing on shoelace thin rope?
I do find that I occasionally find big gashes in my fingers and knees and other parts without having noticed doing it while climbing... but not as a result of getting the munchees while clipping...

I was being facetious - You shouldn't put your rope in your mouth!!

Surely the rope falls out when you commence your scream?
