I have quite mixed feelings about this one. Whilst I think it's kind of cool, bolting in a cave like that also seems wrong.

That feeling is likely how avid bushwalkers feel about climbers bolting pristine cliffs, and to maybe blur the issue further, may not be too different to how some climbers feel about what is happening at places like Mt Keira...

There looked to me within the vid, to be plenty of natural protection opportunities, so maybe a less 'direct' line might have let them do it on trad gear.

For neophytes with an eye for detail, it is not good 'advertising' showing to abseil into a 160 m deep hole on what seems like a standard rope-length without having a knot in the end (see the slow motion footage of throwing the rope into it), to prevent the possible mishap of abseiling off the end...

Around 3:20? Do you just mean how long it takes to lock up with a skinny rope or would you prefer that fall to be longer or shorter or something?
