Damo has been trying to sell Red Rocks for a long time. If you ignore the birdshit and a few loose blocks it has an outstanding concentration of quality 18-22 routes. If these routes were located at Shipley or Thompsons they would get dozens of ascents every weekend.

The penny just dropped... so ODH is THAT Damo!
Can it possibly be the same friendly, easygoing and (yes, hard to believe) modest climber that I have met several times at Nowra and Diamond Falls?
Hard to believe, but ODH is actually a nice guy in person! Not quite as funny as his (slightly nasty) online persona though!!!

faark me - if you are gonna start on a journey to capture Australia's "top 50 climbs" don't ya think you'd filter it to only climb (or publish) to something in at least the....hmmmm....top 10,000.

If they keep climbing this crap this book is going to take longer to get together than the fuching cafe. What's more they are going to do more harm than the strong $AUD in keeping the climbing tourists away.

Well I thought Bosch Imperialist at Red Rocks Gorge was better than most grade 20s at Arapiles. And what is wrong with visiting a few lesser known crags on our travels? It was too wet for us to visit Booroomba that day anyway.

As for the video... well that was so Chockstoners could be introduced to ODH (whom I am hoping will write up a little report here so he can slag us off good and proper).

The videos should get better over the next few weeks, but our focus will be researching and photographing climbs for the book (which probably will take a few years before it is published).

you miss the point. It's like Chopper Read coming out and actually fessing up to looking and behaving like Ned Flanders in real life.

And what was worse was the fact that when climbing together and conversation turned to Chockstone, Damo actually expressed concern about hurting people's feelings!

His modus operandi for ODH is to simply express an opinion and turn the volume up to 10 for a bit of entertainment value - which works fine for most folk who can handle a bit of robust internet debate, but Damo was concerned about a few folk who might have taken his comments a bit too personally and lost confidence as a result.

I wasn't impressed with all this nicey-nice talk and told him off.

Yep ODH is a fraud......next he'll be taking his Vegemite buddies to Wingello for the book of Australia greatest climbs....its like Santa Claus has died all over again....thank god we still have the Easter bunny.
