Those helmet cam videos are cool. But if I watch them before doing a climb is it no longer an onsight?

Yes, if you watch a video of someone climbing a route, showing you exactly where the gear is and what the holds are like, I'd say you've got pretty decent beta on the route and can't claim an onsight ascent. Flash is the best you can do.

I couldn't even get past the first 20 secs. It was shaping up to be the epitome of boring climbing films with unrelated music.

Absolutely, but it is the vid of the first ascent (with dreadful music)

Fast forward about 4.5 minutes and watch the next 10 seconds. That's about the only bit worth keeping from that video.

Spend some time with Steph back in the 90's as she was friends with a ex-partner. Really nice person, as are most of those we see in the climbing media such as Tommy, Chris etc.
