What's happened to The Canberra Climbers Google groups site? No one seems to post on it anymore.

I'd love a Granite fix but have committed to another venture this weekend.

I've been wondering the same thing. Mulchy's disappeared completely. Might have moved to an island finally?

I rang Mulchy about a week ago. Said he had been doing some skiing but not much climbing and was planning on getting back into it soon.

As a new member to the Canberra climbing scene I'd love to come out, however, I'm off to the US for work on Sat. The up side is a bouldering w/e on limestone at Horseshoe Canyon Ranch, Arkansas. Might post a trip report, although the US is a little beyond the scope of Chocky. I'll return to Canberra in three weeks and will be keen to get back on granite (and finish my woody). cheers

Not at all. It's nice to read about what other people get up to around the place.

Sounds good to me. I've got a couple of good climbs lined up in the next few weeks. Should be firing on all cylinders again soon.

My Super Advanced Woody Project is almost complete too. I'll post more details and pics when I'm done.

Doh! We've got a Big Pieces Of Granite weekend planned. M9's even coming up from wherever it is he lives. Can't be enticed to Booroomba?

Ahhh, rock climbing? Big pieces of granite, rather than pebble wrestling this weekend. @SteveC can't do dates and maths so we're climbing 4 days this weekend, rather than next.

Explain more.

Are you going to be at Booroomba both days?

When is M9 coming up?

What is your itinery, sil voo plate?

We'll head up sat mornin, but maybe friday night. I'm climbing with Steve. Rod's only in town for Saturday, so I've roped in Brendan to partner him.

We'll probably do something long on the Nthn Buttress on Saturday. Steve will probably want to tick Integral, so we might muck around there on Sunday. I've taken Mon/Tue off work, which will also be spent climbing, assuming I can still walk.

Will camp at Honeysuckle. Got in trouble for camping off piste last time and don't want to rock the boat.

I'm not sure what I'm doing on Saturday and Sunday but I'd be up for a climb on Mon day or Tuesday or maybe both. Do you have a partner lined up?

I'm dog minding at the moment and can't really be away for more than one night.

Yeah, Steve's down until Tuesday. He's on a relatively sweet 4 on 4 off roster. And I'm a public servant. I'm counting this as work right now.

out of interest - how long does it take to drive from Sydney to Booromba?

Depends on traffic, legal speed, where you start in Sydney, etc etc
Booroomba is about 45 mins Sth of the heart of Canberra, and you need to allow another thirty minutes hike to access the cliff-top, then about 10 mins more to the base... ~> speedsters, fit people, and procrastinators, would no doubt disagree with the times I quoted!

Had a good day there last Sat. It was good to meet & greet etc. Thanks for sharing camaraderie of a rope with me Brendan.

What did you get on the next day evanbb? Did the change of weather that came through Sunday arvo-night give probs, as you seem to be back earlier than planned?
