The link was to a Facebook group of the same name. But your right about the dedicated website. I think
it's still floating around in the intrawebs like a digital Marie Celeste. Occasionally I get an update email
about the latest spam-bot joining up, but thats it.

Deffo chat to Gordo, he'll hook you up with some of the region's finest. There are actually quite a few climbers in the region, tho most are now inactive! I get back up now and then, tho we usually head to Felltimber to flail around on some old unsent projects!

that is a definate yes!!!! dont want to give away many details at the moment but ive been sussing this area out now for 4 years. I work at falls all year round so its a good base for scopeing things out in the area and areas include fainter, cope, yit ma thangs, strawberry saddle, as you can see there is heaps of exploreing to be DONE!!!!
As to the crag visible from the aqueduct its a part of the strawberry saddle/rasberry hill area. Theres a few little crags lurking in the bush up high above that crag, but the little crags are fun so no need to explore that face yet. if you get up this way PM me and i will be happy to so you some of the potential of the area and maybe put up a few routes/probs aswell....

I will make sure to post in this thread the next couple of times we head out, it's usually on Sundays. Starting to warm up now, I would say there's a really good chance we'll be heading out on October 5th.

Anyone here checked out the Pinnicles near Rosewhite? I walked up there yesterday...plenty of granite, potential for a couple of 40m slab routes, a bunch of 15-25 metre ones and inconsistant quality gnarly cracks, plus a sweet 10m 75 degree roof crack housed in a beautiful room with two flaring walls...

I make it sound better than it is though, particulary when Buff if so close....

Thinking of Holden Caulfield wednesday week. Will need a partener if mine bails.

If the pinnacles are those granite spires you can see driving along Happy Valley between Ovens & Kiewa Valleys... then I've wandered around there once. (The farms below have been used for mountain biking enduro events)

Yes a bit of potential up there... a bit of work required.

Yeah, the gravity 12 hour has been run there for 8 years or so now...

The flake you mentioned, does it finish 3 quarts of the way up with nothing but a slab finish? Looks really hard that slab...I'd hate to fall off that route too, the results would be nasty...

I can't remember much about the flake.. other than it was huge and needed cleaning. Did read something in the East Vic guidebook about a flake up at the pinnacles being climbed way back when, but I can't recall the details and I don't have my guidebook accessible right now.

I thought the most promising section was a big wall at the northern end of the largest pinnacle, where the ridge goes back to being a ridge again before the next set of pinnacles. The wall as slightly concave higher up - a sort of high rise slab like Coming Up For Air at Buffalo. Figure out a way onto that slab and then some bolting up the middle and you might have a multi-pitch classic worth the hike up!
