Blue mountains on the Orange side

Hi peeps.

I feel like I write the same freaking post every other month as I move around...

Relocating to Orange for work, with my Sundays and most of my arvos to myself.
Keen to look for partner to go outdoors in the area and all the way up the Blueies too!

No car, few trad gear, no rope!! But great and safe belayer, trad climber, preferably looking for another trad climber but won't mind doing some sport.
I'm a small french woman but I don't fly high.
Awesome outdoors cooking talents inherited from extensive bumming. Adopt me.

Jokes aside, anyone knows of something interesting for regular training in the Orange area, please let me know! I've heard of the We will rock you place in Bathurst but that looks like the work of a weekend...

I'll be looking at a full time partner for long time climbing in the blueies in about two months time.
Cheers everyone! Hope you enjoy your climbing!

What, and drive right past the magical Nangar cliffs to get there from Orange?
;-)

The contacts I have in Orange seem to no longer climb, however there are trachyte outcrops scattered throughout the forested areas adjacent Cadia Mine and back up towards Mt Canobolas from there, that have been regularly climbed on in the past. Most are probably better suited to bouldering/highball but there are roped routes too.
Access can vary year to year depending on track conditions and blackberry regrowth...

I was up there last weekend, and took a photo of a new outcrop I found, but need to work out how to get it off my new camera to here so you can see the type of thing I am talking about...

To get to the bluies you also drive past the granite at Tarana where there are plenty of short and reasonable climbs.

Check if anyone is going to the Wolgan (2 hours from Orange), Tarana (1 hour), or Cosmic County/Freezer as they are half an hour closer to Orange than the main mountains crags. We used to climb somewhere 20 minutes southwest of Bathurst on big granite boulders.
