Interesting way to put it. As are offwidths I'd imagine.

Offwidths are hot work.
The lad is probably quite sensibly waiting for cooler weather...

Im trying to train for some routes requiring offwidth skills and have been looking for them in the you yangs.
Can you guys recommend offwidths in the you yangs that would be good to train on.
So far I've been on : hide and seek - overlap area and santa's last entry in NW outcrop and flailed on both!!
Cheers

On top of all the other offwidths at NW outcrop, there is 1984 a short walk further on. Brutal wide start, plus a couple easier wide things on the back of same block while you're there.

And not the Youies, but not that far away, Golgotha at Werribee gorge is really good...IMO

I second that. 1984 is rad. Talmud which is on the NW outcrop is a jam crack but also rad. There are a few off widths there, all are fun.

Golgotha is crazy town and super fun. Also get on Braveheart if you get out to Mt Alex.

I'm gunning for Wizard of Ice this trip out to araps. I'm gonna get shutdown completely :D

Yeah I checked 1984 out and it had what looked like a wasp nest up high as it cuts left... didnt scope the other easier lines there. Thanks for the advice, taladon is sweet ive solo tr it but not led. I feel insecure down low on that too! . Just need to cut more laps. Cheers for the suggestions keep em coming.

Ok, so how does Saturday, April 18 work for everyone? I'll touch base with the VCC and make it a club trip...

I figure we'll head out to the NW outcrop, and surrounds, and throw our carcasses at any of the number of cracks/offwidths there; surely someone will stick to one of them;)

Details TBC.

Sounds like fun, I'm in. I'm thinking of doing an offwidth challange - all 5 offwidth routes at the crag, or maybe the full crack challenge of all 10 hand width plus size cracks in day.
I think that Phlebotomy is probably the hardest of them all. Bring out the big cams.
