PI re roll call;
I will be there.
If needed, I will book another site to cater for extras.

TimP
Sites are supposed to be max of 6 per site per night. (From my previous experience, that number seems to be somewhat negotiable...)
What site number are you?
Are you inclined for others to share your site (and defray your costs), if needs be?

MonkeyBoy
I am going up Friday too.
We can get on something at Disabled Lookout with you as an introductory route that afternoon if weather allows...
I will bring my spare etts.

Damo milo
Welcome aboard.
Catani campsite re portaledges will cost you a camp fee.
The walls of Buffalo Gorge on a portaledge are free of $ cost...
... then again, if you want to socialise with others of like mind, I suspect the balance of numbers will be at Catani.
Re:
>I assume loads of small cams and wires r the preference?
It largely depends on the route you choose...
Buffalo takes everything, including the largest cams you possess!

For everyone...
This weekend is going ahead regardless of weather conditions; ... ~> as some would say that aid climbing is all about suffering anyway, isn't it?
~> ~> ... am still not sure where fatherstugang fits into that picture yet though.
Heh, heh, heh.

I'm in. Will be turning up to Cantani on Friday night. Haven't booked a campsite yet, and hoping there's enough spaces on the sites of those who have, but can always book an addition site if not. Would be returning to Melbourne either Sunday night, or possibly Monday night if anyone were up for a (free) climb of Where Angels Fear To Tread on the Monday.

More than happy to car pool, so if anyone needs a lift from Melbourne's inner or northern suburbs, let me know.

Have or will have my own jumars, etriers, trad gear, daisies and a few hooks. (No cam hooks, sadly, as ClimbingAnchors were sold out!) I have Big Bros in #1 and #2 that I'm happy to lend out if anyone needs big gear. No previous aid experience, but I might try to get in some practice beforehand jugging and placing hooks on the stone wall of Ruckers Hill, Northcote.

Also, I'm not confident that I'll be able to grow a decent aid-climbing beard in the next 2 weeks. Hope that won't be a problem.

Hey Dave.

If your keen for a buddy to practice jumar technique I would be keen for a meet if u know a spot. I am in hawthorn right now but can pop up to northcote. I just got some jumars a few days ago.

I also will be without beard.

but I might try to get in some practice beforehand

I'm all out of bearded women; what about hirsute hippies?

So focus on beard growing and forget any kind of practical learning ?

No worries, I will let you know when I am heading out. Would be either next weekend (when I will definitely have hooks and jumars, but maybe not etriers yet) or during the week leading up to the Buffalo weekend.

The hill looks perfect in terms of angle being very similar to what you'd get at Buffalo, but my only concern is that there might not be much opportunity to set up an anchor at the top without blocking the footpath.

Quick question folks.
.
I am based in Sale for work and wanted to go find a wall to hang off and generally muck about on for the weekend. Any recommended areas? Have no pro (just draws, slings etc), just wanted to set up the portaledge and tune up on some jugging.
.
Cheers.

I have a partner lined up and a short list of routes. I also have tim's aid gear on loan for my partner, so can confirm timbigot will not be attending.

It seems like perhaps my hope of getting multiple parties on the northwall may not eventuate. Though certainly there are enough folks who could team up and hurl themselves at something.

Have climbed similar size granite, upto around gr18. Would love to learn whatever people are willing to teach. Otherwise just happy to get out and have a good climb.
