Hi,
We are two backpackers who will get to Hobart on tuesday, the 19th. We want to travel and explore tasmania and it would be really gread to do some rockclimbing as well. We climb up to 23/24 and have the basic gear for sportclimbing with us (60m rope, 14 quickdraws...).
Unfortunately, we are both not that into tradclimbing. But we would like to try out in some easy climbs if we find someone who wants to share his rack with us :-) So if there are some locals or other backpackers we could join just text us or send us a message.

If you haven't already, you could also try posting on thesarvo.com.au.

If you're in Launceston, check out Hillwood (http://www.thesarvo.com/confluence/display/thesarvo/Hillwood)

Sport climbing, not far from town, easy walk, really pretty area, and pretty good climbing (at least for a day or two).

We will go to launceston first, and than maybe to hillwood. Unfurtunately we do not have a car.... so perhabs hichhiking to hillwood... here on chockstone it says that there is a free camping area not far from hillwood i guess if you are there, it is possible to get there by feet right?

I'd start begging on thesarvo for ride shares. Climbing in Tasmania without a car would be desperate. It's maybe 5km from the camping to Hillwood. And it's not a exactly a busy road that goes up there.
