But aren't people's goals/time/abilities different hence why we need different training programs at different times?

I agree with having training partners to motivate you but sharing the same program normally doesnt work if you are really goal oriented.

>>Cripes! Who buys cars off ebay of all places??
Lots of people.
I have bought 2 cars and at least 3 motorbikes on ebay. Its not the easiest way to buy as you have to look at them and then bid to win. But that is off set by the good deals you can get.

Rules of effective training regime:

Quit full time job.
Move near climbing.
Get out on rock 4-5 days a week.
Wearing helmet sometimes advisable.
Not being an asshole quite useful too.

Speaking of assholes, before I forget again:

Cheers,

Quite right - I was more thinking train at the same time and helping each other set and track personal goals rather than all train the same thing.

YOu're forgetting about defining the problem with your current training regime -through brainstorming activities and pareto and fish bone analysis (this was an 8hour session workshop one) then you have to do a series of small studies to ensure that you are getting the question you are asking right. then you must make goals SMART. (this is what i learnt in Melbourne last week -nice all expenses trip -it didn't rain)

I don't know what you do after that... but workshop 3 is on the 30th of MArch so watch this space. x

He has been known to do a bit.
Probably worth attending one of his Aid Weekends at Buffalo sometime, as they seem to be popular to the point of having had repeat 'offenders' attend!!
Heh, heh, heh.
