Climed at Araps this week in perfect weather however Horsham is meant to get 40mm of rain on Sat. so bring the water wings. On a side note we noticed the fire dam is full and the rope swing is back up in the tree...yippee...

I don't think the rope swing ever got taken down. When I last looked at the fire dam, the swing was there... a good 3m above the surface of the water...

I think it was a good few m above the sand by the end there. I'm not sure there was any water at all, but I'd stopped checking years ago when it first became rank.

incidently, the weather looks bloody awful this weekend. 90% chance of lots of rain for 3 days, than 60% maybe tuesday could be ok, it's down to 30% chance of 1-5mm.

Just got back from Araps... I love living an hour away, though it took me 2 hours to get home... injured wildlife

Anyyyyyyyyway so got good weather Friday for the first part of the day, got windy and increasingly grey through the afternoon before the rain started...

Left today (Sat) because just miserable rain with no real end in sight... pretty bummed out but cant say the weather didnt predict it.

Sunday (if you believe the BOM) says heavy rain easing to scattered showers through the day... but with 2 days straight of rain and no sun, would it dry off at all?

Anyway long story short, it was wet

Still grey in Natimuk but hasn't rained for some time. Footpaths have dried off. May go out for a boulder if it stays dry.

Now I do feel better! Sitting next to a nice heater is better than freezing off the proverbials, especially when there isnt much chance of a climb :D

100 mm of rain fell at Mt Buffalo today, and it is getting heavier as the night goes on...

The road up the hill has been reduced to single lane in a number of places as creek washaway/landslips occurred during the last rain event...
~> This present event could take out the remaining portion of road in a couple of those spots...

Now if there was a cable car up Mt Buffalo, then if the road was washed out you could still get up there to climb. ;-)

not sure if it applies to the north and east, but central and western vic all had heavier rain predicted for Sunday.. the heaviest apparently...

Should be interesting... hope everyone drives safely back from Arapiles... roads were semi-flooded today already... oh and people should watch the turtles, I rescued 2 today... guess the road was like a river for them

Well not heavy rain but certainly rain. I went in the cafe before and Simey was whining at me for not climbing as the wind would have dried the rock -I went kangaroo and emu spotting and ate sausages instead yum. I think it's too wet and cold to climb.

Friday was lovely though -well worth swapping friday with monday off. x

... but that kind of thinking, ie one way tickets, would bugger up the $ calculations that allegedly make it a viable financial proposition!
Heh, heh, heh.
