Oh Tony,

you do have a way with words don't you!

Ah no, we didn't see anything other than an old pile of slings at the top of the 2nd pitch, which we recovered and turfed. That really needs a more permanent rap station!

Was it a VB Tee Shirt?

It was one of those gucci type outdoory ones. Had to wipe my arse with it. I reckon it still might be in good nick after a wash.

I reckon I know why you left it too, if the posts above are a guide.

?
... interesting wordplay.
Nah; it's a false summit because the last couple of pitches lay back out of sight!; ... or in your case the summit was 'somewhere around' obscured by the approaching hailstorm?
Heh, heh, heh.

Follow up news if you were interested .. the Canon is a write-off as a result of the storm, cheaper of two repair quotes was north of $900 .. sad to see it go .. lessons learned are
(a) don't climb in the rain,
(b) if by chance rule (a) is not followed, carry plastic bags!

Well, we're not all completely OK - my Canon PS Pro1 is still in the cupboard. Unfortunately the demise of my point-and-shoot digicam has led to an SLR addiction which can be traced back to that thunderstorm. I'm up to 3 bodies now. Quite a "bodycount" when I put it that way.

Reminds me Neil .. whar's my copy of that last Crux cover?

Have you invested in a little dry bag yet? x
