I went to Frog Buttress with Andrew Martin last week. See this link for my trip report to this marvelous crag and some comparisons to Ben Lomond and Tassie crack climbing. http://climbtasmania.com.au/blogs/news/14897761-frog-buttress-trip-report-best-crack-climbing-in-australia

Very similar to my thoughts going the other way. I found myself lacking in sheer crack stamina on Frews Flutes despite having climbed at Frog plenty. I had intended to get out there and say hi while you guys were up, but completely forgot.

Good honest report Gerry and probably right on the money. The Ben has longer climbs, gnarlier climbs and gobsmacking lines but the Buttress demands more technique, has a greater concentration of exquisite short cracks and is far easier to access. Celebrate them both. I climbed all of the routes on your FB list up to grade 22, before sticky rubber and without cams of any kind and also climbed a number of good routes on the Flutes and yet I cannot say that one of the cliffs is better than the other. What I can say is that both are better than Nowra!

With Paranoia, I rapped in and spent about an hour shunting the route and checking out the gear. Then the next morning led it first go placing the gear. So that was a headpoint I guess. Superb route

If he researches you, ropedonkey might dispute that.

It was a good read tastrad, and I enjoyed having your considered perspective on the climbing to be had at both locations.
Thanks for posting a link to it.

Awesome stuff Gerry! I met you and Andrew at the pub one night. I'm the friend of Stretch ;) It was my first time to Frogs too, and I didn't want to leave. The winter weather there is amazing, and being my first crack at cracks, I fell in love. Hearing about the Tassie cracks might be just enough to make me give them a visit this summer :)
It was nice meeting you, and Andrew's guide is a great gift for those wanting to climb at Frogs. I still think Conquistador is easier than Devil's Dihedral.... even if Andrew doesn't agree.

If you carefully read between the lines it may become apparent that the poster is using Engrish as a second language.
