TR: Araps 10 years on

Ten years is way too long to have not got back to Araps since my initial visit. Being older & (I think) a bit wiser this time, myself & 5 fellow Kiwi Easter trippers made a beeline from Melbourne to the Natimuk Hilton Good Friday.
Beds ! Shower ! A couch. Bacon & Eggs breakfasts ! Made the early starts much easier & being on the rock at sun up had me grinning like a right smug bastard. I hadn't been chomping to get on a cliff so badly for way too long. After mostly making do with NZ Nth Island single pitch scratchings for the last long while, the long orange walls of this amazing place almost brought a tear.

My personal highlights included 2nd pitch of The Bishop. Exposure ! Bloody hell. Satisfaction guaranteed. One of the most fun pitches I've climbed anywhere.
Arachnus. Even seconding a pitch with a enough crap in the pack to assault The Nose. Dumped shortly after back in the car !
Watchtower chimney - a bit of everything.
And helping a hapless qaurtet of one 'Guide' (on it for the 1st time) with his 3 gym rats with one headlamp between them off last couple pitches of Tiptoe after the sun when down...
Apparently some very vocal finger pointing overheard that night in the Pines.
And just sheer climbing bliss really.

So not a tick list of anything hard , but we all lapped up the exposure, endless solid holds & amazing gear placements I have not encountered since my previous visit.
Will be heading there outside of Easter next visit though to avoid the obvious - (We were still surprised by the sheer volume of numbers though.)
Group consensus was A+.

Pining to go back.. New Zealands best trad crag by a country mile. Good on ya Aussie.

Great to see another twist on visiting Mt Arapilies.
Thanks for posting up your observations, which make a nice book-end to another (recent on this forum), Mt Arapilies TR that was written from a first-timers perspective.

Are you Sharon's partner Deano?

Sorry I called her a dude when she had her helmet on, :P

She was lovely, :)
