the route Gomper at the 4th dial. The first half is good climbing. The line continues into an overhanging offwidth, but the route description just briefly notes 'continue and follow the line'. Yes you can avoid the overhang with a traverse right and up the next corner, which we did and assumed that was the route, but I did note the first ascentionist was Roland Pauligk and I did wonder if he might have done the diabolical and offwidth/feet free swing through the roof. A lot of his other routes from the time seem to involve widish cracks and thuggish brown-pants-time climbing. Anybody like to comment?

You tricked us superstu. Roland Pauligk was no bumbly and his routes you have summed up well with
>A lot of his other routes from the time seem to involve widish cracks and thuggish brown-pants-time climbing
... and as such it is more than likely he did 'the diabolical and offwidth/feet free swing through the roof'.
