Maybe ... there's a bit of scrambling up some boulders into the big chimney between the bit with Maharajah and the bit with twin cracks. It is on the left if you are going through from the car park. There's 2 of them, I think the other is precious? I haven't done that one.

Chimp Section 12 is the crack from the terrace above jaws.

Precious is 20m RIGHT of Sorcerer's Apprentice.

ok guidebook owner, are there 2 routes in the chimney? I'm sure i remember 2 lines in there. Maybe the second one is on the maharajah side of it? It's been a few years since i've been there.

Hang on, yeah, it does say Right. That will be towards Jaws. What a stupid book. The description reads
Precious 20m 20:
Definitely not! 20m right of Sorcerer's Apprentice [so past half a dozen other routes) is a large chasm bisecting the Cathedral from the east pillar. The crack on the left wall at the entrance to the chasm.

The chasm provides a shortcut to Maharajah and along the L wall of the chasm you will find the next two routes

[The descriptions of Jaws and Chimp Section follow. ]
Should probably be:
The chasm provides a shortcut to Maharajah and along the L wall of the chasm you will find the next three routes

Precious 20m 20:
Definitely not! The crack on the left wall at the entrance to the chasm.

[The descriptions of Jaws and Chimp Section follow. ]
I've always found the way that section was laid out confusing.

Sorry to bump this thread back up, but where are you guys getting the info from? Is it from the Buffalo guide? Or sublime climbs? Or somewhere else (an old guide for example)?

Apologies for stating the obvious, but if you want to find out about the routes at a particular crag, start with the guide book for that crag. All these routes are in the Mt Buffalo guide book.

And the update to the guide that you can find on the VCC website has some better photos to complement the guide.

Yeah i've just found that. The guide is good but it can be a little hard to decipher.

Howdy peeps,

Did a small amount of climbing at the Cathedral on the weekend. I've updated TheCrag so hopefully it makes it easier for everyone to understand. I think that "The Pinch" was a bit of a piss pull at 16. It was a super great climb and I really enjoyed it. Philly thought it was also fun but simultaneously ultra burly and also not a 16. I'd put it at 18 or 19.

Jaws was pretty burly, I think Wendy is right at saying that it's a hard18/easy19.

My fave climbs for the weekend would have to be Maharajah Chimney (gr13) and The Pinch (gr18-19)

Also, as a side note, we climbed Jaws and then Chimp Section, to which I found a triple glue-in rappel anchors out to the left. I thought I was a really crappy placement and quite awkward to get onto. It was all cool, but maybe they could have been put 2 meters to the right (closer to chimp section) and the could serve as a rappel station and anchor? In any case, I'm not quite sure that a 60m rope would get you to the gulch at the bottom of Jaws/Precious. We had a 70 so no worries.
