Yesterday I was so close to booking flights to Tonsai for 10 days next October.
I last went there for a month in July 2009 and had a wicked time.
But before I booked this time I thought I better check what its like. Unfortunately according to the internet its not as great as it used to be. Anyone know if this the case or not?
Also to add apparently the incredible deep water soloing on the nearby island is now banned as well.
Anyone know of any nice alternatives in the "Asia" region that haven't been shat on yet?
Almost feel like giving up and going to the Arapiles as it never disappoints.
Thanks so much
Jez

Im a big fan of green climbers home in Thakek , Laos. You can stay in town and buy a motorbike/hitch if u dont wanna live with climbers in the camp. The rock is not very polished and they love the place too much to expand. Tonga could be really cool in our winter.

Well, they'll all be out climbing instead of watching the world cup

There's quite a few options in China, just don't go to Yangshuo. It's been "shat on"

Stay on the main land and go check out crags near Au Nang and don't set foot in Tonsai. Easily enough to keep you busy for ten days. Less beaches and it is chockas with kulture.

Yangshuo is a super busy tourist debacle. Add pollution and i have no idea why you would go there...
