Fire in Black Range near Black Ian's |

There's an uncontrolled bushfire moving north in the Black Range. There are emergency warnings out for Toolondo, Nurrabiel, Telangatuk and Mockinya.
I'm guessing it will hit Black Ian's, not that anyone will be climbing there in this weather, nor with the plume of smoke that's been evident there since Saturday afternoon. It was very weird driving into Horsham Saturday afternoon : Massive thunderstorms to the north and east, huge plume of smoke to the south and a chopper flying from the incident control centre seemingly oblivious to the lightning.
Let's just hope the fire doesn't do too much damage.

Assuming the red polygon on emergency.vic.gov.au is right, it's already burnt Black Ians.
[edit: that's the warning area, not the burnt area]

I assumed that too.
I wondered what you meant about the polygon - I was looking at the CFA site which doesn't have it. There's a few subtle differences between the three sites , CFA, DEPI and Emergency.

Sounds like conditions eased a bit overnight. Hopefully things stay calm for them today.
The black is the incident perimeter. Clarkes Lane and Red Rock Road are just NW of the green.

I'm enjoying the amusing shape of the fire ground, like a c*ck and b*lls, though that doesn't diminish the sh*t those in line of fire are going through

Black Ian's looks to have escaped for now.

Fire broke south and is now heading east:
The Henty Highway is closed from the Brimpaen-Laharum Road to East-West Road Mooralla.
Muline creek is just south of the area I've shown.

I think maybe I won't be going to the Gallery tomorrow ... i might start a new thread so that it is immediately obvious that the vic range is not such a good idea right now.
