By then we had sussed on to the fact that they may have been overstating their skills; they weren't total gumbys but Micha had definitely not climbed on rock before.

Well I guess I should announce the winner, but before I do I would like to thank all of the people that posted and entry. There were some good efforts so thanks for having a go.
Now for the main event,
and the winner is....................
Tommo! for his post about being sandbagged by yours truly. Great effort mate, on both the post and the climb. Send me a PM with your postal details and I will post a book on Monday.
I seem to remember that you won Simon’s book as well, if you keep it up you will become a professional and have to declare your book income to the tax department!

Woooohooo! This just made my day! I would love to be a gentleman and decline this win... but I'm not going to, because I'm stoked! But I do promise that I won't enter the next book give-away on Chockstone :o) I don't think I'll turn professional, but the tax department can go and solo The Deeps before they get a cut of my climbing library!
Thanks Rob, by all accounts this new guide sounds amazing, and I can't wait to use it. But thanks also to the previous guidebook authors - easily forgotten. Although it was challenging to use, compiling and publishing route information in any form is a big task, and provides a major reference for later guidebooks. My dog-eared copy of the McMillan/Jones/Cleland guide will sit proudly alongside this new one.
