Does this mean that the rest of Stoney Creek Road is open as well?

The Western end of Stony Creek Road is opened to Rosea Track which has been reopened down to the Bundaleer carpark.

OK so the eastern end of Stony Creek Rd is still shut between Rosea Track and Silverband Rd? So no little campsites?

Great effort, Tracey. Another fantastic result showing - like the outcome with the Arapiles camping situation - that positive results can come out of entering into constructive dialogue with at least some bureaucracies. It's always easier to slag off at these folks, but your relationship with these folk are of enormous benefit to the climbing community. A heartfelt thanks, and I hope I'm able to take advantage of the access to Rosea before too long.
Regards
Doug

This thread was started on 11/11/11, now we have an update on the 12/12/12. Should we be expecting something new on the 13/13/13??
Oh, wait....

the top little campsite is accessible. Directly opposite the bundaleer turnoff. Dunno about the others, but Tracy's link will get you to a pv map marking the remaining closed roads, so you could work it out. I think it might be open.
And Tracy, I'm constantly impressed at your achievements in the face of bureacracy! Who'd have thought you could get them to agree it's ok to walk up the start of the main track that they want to remain closed to the public?

More great work Tracey. I too am amazed that climbers only are allowed to walk part way up a closed track to access climbs! Now that's real progress. Congrats on your long term achievements.

Due to the fires in the Vic range, a huge area is closed which includes Rosea and Bundaleer. See closure map here: http://parkweb.vic.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0008/572561/Grampians-fire-closures-map.pdf
http://parkweb.vic.gov.au/explore/parks/grampians-national-park should have updates as they come to hand.
