Hi all, can anyone tell me what Telstra NextG coverage is like at Freycinet, particularly at Bluestone Bay/Whitewater Wall camping area?

I've looked at the coverage map but it seems the campground is somewhere on the border of coverage.

I found that I got service on a telstra 3g phone standing on top of deep water zawn and no where else. I would not rely on whatever I was getting service from still being there though.

There is very very lim ited coverage at the camping area. Ya have to hold your mouth just right or you get nothing. Definitely take a high gain antanea with you for any hope of reception. I found a spot at the turn around in the camping area. Others have mentioned a spot on the walk down to Whitewater wall. You'll just hafta hunt around. Any other network is zero coverage.

There's plenty in Launceston's Cataract Gorge...

Funnily enough Lonny gorge is nowhere near Whitewater Wall at Coles Bay.

With my normal telstra mobile i got coverage on top of Lassies Wall all the time and its only a couple of hundred metres from White Water Wall.

Funnily enough it's in the middle of Launceston. Gfdonc is not a fan of the place having wandered by it one time and deciding it was choss (it isn't). Maybe the excellent phone coverage will tempt him to give it a try.

I can usually get good, reliable coverage at the top of the prow, a few minutes walk north of the campground on the way down to white water wall

Me and my bros were there a few months ago. we could get fairly good reception standing on top of lassies wall but we found that we had to walk around a bit to find it.
