Hey Chockstone Crew,
Does anyone have any climbing guides for Europe that are gathering dust on the shelf? My partner and I are heading over to Europe for about 5 months of climbing, with no specific route in mind at this stage.
If you have any old books that you would be willing to sell or lend let us know. We promise to take good care of any guidebooks lent!
Any other advice, tips, or just banter for a European climbing road trip greatly appreciated :)

Andy

For one crag I went to in France, the guidebook could be bought from the local tourist office and is pretty inexpensive and helps to fund the local club/bolting. Not sure if this is the normal practice.

This area was pretty cool but maybe not high on the list of climbing holiday destinations (Like Gorge du Tarn etc.). Maybe that's what you are after though. On the day I went, we had the crag to ourselves.

I have the guide and climb at Cliffhanger normally on a Tuesday. I don't really want to part with the guide but maybe I could lend it to you if you want. I think I've got "On Peak Rock" too.

Jkane, that spot looks pretty idyllic from your pictures, I'll definitely head there if we get the chance. If the book is cheap like you say and supports the community then I'm happy to grab a copy over there. Thanks for the offer!

Miklllaw, does the jingo wobbly guide cover the routes, or just general descriptions of the crags?

crags only, but single pitch sport routes are generally obvious once you get there.
You could easily blow a few hundred $ on guides, and not be able to afford to carry them home

Have you tried UKC forums? Far more likely to find euro guides in English via that forum.
