Rope sale bonanza! + Climbing shoes
2:38:52 PM
Im a gear whore and have a tendency to impulse buy climbing gear i 'may' need in the future. However after a brief stint in south east Asia ive decided i want to do a long stint in Europe, so im flogging off all of my unused ropes. Just clarify each of these is brand new in its original packaging.

I live in Newcastle NSW, so any of the following can be picked up from there. Im in the bluies every fortnight or so as well, so we could arrange to meetup there or on my way through Castle Hill etc.

So i have;

2 x 8.9mm Mammut Serenity - 70m, 52g/m
Worlds lightest single rope, sucked me in, but havent had a use for it as ive not worn out my other singles, or had any projects that were so close that the extra 200g would help
These are rated as singles, halves/doubles and twins. one is orange one is brown.

Price - $270 each or $500 for both + postage.

2 x 8.5mm Tendon Master half ropes (also rated as twins) - 50m, 48g/m
I won these at a comp last year and havent had a need for them as i already have another set of half ropes i dont use

Price - $270 for the pair

1 x Edelrid Osprey - 10.5mm, 60m, 71g/m
i bought these to use as ropes to use in 'The Cave', a local cave with super sharp ryolite rock. Again as im not going to be climbing locally during the winter 'Cave' season, dont have a need for them. Theyre the purple and yellow colour

Price: $210ea

1 x Mammut Supernova - 10mm, 60m, 66g/m
Nothing to say really, comes with a Mammut rope bag.

Price - SOLD

1 x pair of La Sportiva Venom slip on climbing shoes Size 45. Brand New never used - SOLD

1 x pair of Saltic Eso i would guess size 46-47 used as indoor shoes for a while but still have 75% life in them - $SOLD

1 x pair of La Sportiva Katana Lace Size 44.5. Brand New never used - $150

1 x pair of Millet Hybrid Size Size 46.5. Used with maybe 30% tread left. Wont need a resole for a little while - $40

1 x pair of 5.10 Anasazi VCS Size 47. Used with 20% tread left. No holes, due for a resole soonish - $50

1 x pair of 5.10 Spire Size 46. Used with 50% tread left, have been resoled before - $40

Im also selling both my cars, one is 98 Camry CSX Manual, 5 months rego, amazing climate control AC - $3500 ono - great for cragging, will take 5 people and alot of gear, toyota reliability. Oh and it still has 10months warranty (bought it as i thought the BMW was broken, but it wasnt)

1998 E36 BMW 328i High Line edition. Means power everything, leather and all the BMW gizmos and goodies. Im asking $7000ono and has rego til September.

Ive put the ropes up at prices which i think are fair (even considering exchange rates and US pricing). Im happy to hear your thoughts if youre actually interested in buying, but would love it if people could refrain from posting 'constructive' comments.

Im not here to make zillions of $$ just dont see the point in leaving >$1000 worth of ropes in my wardrobe for my eventual (hopefully) return to Aus in a year or 2.

Ive been brief on the cars as this isnt generally a place to sell cars. If you are interested please pm me as theyre both listed online elsewhere with pictures and more details etc.

Thanks for looking

Are the mammut serenity ropes new?
2:56:33 PM
Yup still factory coiled in the plastic wrap

5:00:27 PM
are the Tendon master 8.5 ropes different colours by any chance?
5:29:36 PM
I am about to be a little bit "constructive" ...

You can get that serenity for $200.

and the supernova for $149

Add $30 postage (that's what Amazon charge)

I think this is also the rope that MD in melb were selling for $200 recently.

Add the comfort of buying a rope brand new from the store ... gear prices drop inordinately the moment you walk out of the shop ... who knows how long they have been sitting around for ... want to reconsider? I might be interested at a better price. Otherwise, I'll stick with my internet bargain hunting.
7:49:26 PM
Goshen, yes different colours

Wendy, always a pleasure, i think youll find the serenity is only 60m (70m out of stock). But thanks for going to the effort.

No doubt next week another shop will have it at a price less than mine. In fact if you wait around long enough im sure a sale will come up for any one of these ropes which will make it cheaper than my listing.

For those actually interested in purchasing one of these ropes from me. Please continue to get in touch.

6:14:41 PM
Serenity rope prob not best as first rope that I will ever buy??Thanks anyway
10:55:13 PM
Agreed! The serenity is a pretty advanced rope best for people pushing their limits at lead climbing or for use in alpine climbing and mountaineering. Unless you get two and use them as half ropes.

The Osprey is well suited to all round climbing including top roping and leading and has much better wear properties due to a thicker sheath and core.

These two ropes are close to opposite ends of the spectrum as far as dynamic ropes go, but 'horses for courses'

10:56:22 PM
Ive added some shoes to the first post
11:02:34 AM

Ropes still for sale? I'm interested in the Supernova...
1:59:57 PM
Yup still for sale.

Also, Im going to the bluies this weekend, so free delivery to those that can meet me or live on my travel path through Sydney

5:01:49 PM
I'm in Tasmania, but I'll give you $200 if you sort out the postage?
9:51:09 PM
No thanks.
10:10:50 AM
