tobie is the man for solos
he ripped the uk guys apart and showed them they are all talk.
tobie is oz hardest soloer with out a doubt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
from soloing up to 24 onsight at araps and hanging off the top of serpintine last jug rope less by climbing over the top.
even though serpintine is 26 or 27 (not 29). it does have a bit of air under the top jugs.
if any one can do better then tobie i would like to hear.
good stuff tobie. keep the dream alive....
always sharma........

Many climbers have taken things much further than your boaring boast but I think they would not appreciate their exploits being posted on a web site.

He's a good climber sure, but there are lots of people we don't even know about who solo hard things.
The Brits are not all talk, go climb on the Ben in winter sometime and see what they do there, would make most people need to take along a spare pair of jocks...

Having seen the results of unsuccessful onsight soloing, I can definitely say that all unsuccessful soloing efforts are 'hard', as is the slab in the mortuary or the ride in the chopper afterwards. It seems that not many are up for the redpoint directly afterwards.
Competitive soloing? Its up there with Monty Python's olympic crocodile feeding champs (just slather yourself with bechemal sauce) - I encourage all Brits to participate. ;)

What? Have you ever been over here and done anything? Do you actually know any of the "uk guys" of whom you speak? Obviously not!!
I was climbing with some of the locals on grit yesterday (Sunday 26/9) and the subject of Toby Benhams visit came up. Probably did some of the most impressive repeats yet of certain 'classic' grit nasties but there are quite a few here leading/soloing these E8+ things. Everyone spoke very highly of Toby as a climber & as a person (if they met him), there was no slagging him off. Where do you come off posting sh*t like the above. You haven't even got the balls to do it under your own name, although I reckon most here know who you are.
