Good planning!

# 1's - Off ledges/belays (preferably traverse away from belay station if on ledge) and avoid trickling down the route UNLESS provoked by following parties ;)

# 2's - Before and/or after - buried deep and away from tracks, climbs and carpark :)

Safely - stay on belay and have you ever wondered why the elastic leg loop straps on your harness can unclip?! ;)

Errr...Hotel California is only meant to take 8 hours from car to car? Surely you can shit before and/or after you're at the carpark? The actual route itself only takes 7 hours so you could shit at the bottom or the top or both. If you are really desperate there is a halfway bushy ledge (as with a lot of Grose Valley routes) where you could dig a hole with a stick.

As for peeing whilst on route I have seen a dude on the Tiger Wall pee in a crevis behind a ledge while he was lead belaying his partner, whilst I was also on the ledge belaying my seconder. His partner never noticed (the reason for secrecy was because his partner was a she)! He also managed to aim all his pee into the crack to where human hands could never reach! My point is, if you are male you should be ok cos you can pretty much point that thing anywhere.

I have no experience with peeing as a female (for obvious reasons) but I figure either pee whilst on the bushy ledge or get one of them fake plastic penis things that lets you pee standing up like a man.

I have done Bunny Bucket and Hotel California a number of times each, and done a couple of other routes in that area, and never had to shit or pee whilst on route. If it did happen it wouldn't really be that much of a problem.

One time, when I was doing BB, I was seconding and managed somehow to top out on one of the first few pitches onto a ledge a few metres from where I was meant to be. On this ledge, quite close to the edge was a neatly laid log. This was not a very big ledge and it was quite close to the ground. I was firstly impressed that someone would do their business right there so close to the edge and secondly wondering why the hell they wouldnt go before they started up the route.

Yeah I've never been caught out (#1 or #2) at araps or gramps my partner and a few friends have very small bladders etc. ; )

I guess it's a case of go before you leave the ground.... and chicks ?? just squat wherever you can ??

Try and piss on rock that will get washed by the rain. Pissing down a hole or in a cave will just mean that it will stink forever.

Can't believe I know an actual solution to this....only because I was in an outdoor store recently in NZ and saw this on the shelf and laughed for a good 5 minutes. Here is your answer :)

No, I don't know her, but I do know this fantastic tale...

Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, there lived the lovely Lady Snow White. She wished to go climbing on the granite of the nearby Mount Buffalo but could not go by herself.

One day the wonderful Prince Charming invited her to go climbing with him on China Wall. She happily agreed and they headed out into the summer sun to scale the granite walls.

Towards the end of the day, Prince Charming spied one last line that he'd like to climb. He dispatched the first pitch with some trouble and then belayed Snow White up to the ledge. With her safely anchored in Prince Charming realised that he could no longer contain himself and would surely explode should she make him continue climbing without relieving the pressure building inside him.

He explained his situation to Snow White and professed that he could not continue unless she yielded to him. They argued for some time on the small ledge but she eventually relented and lowered her defences. They were huddled very close together on the small ledge as Prince Charming slowly dropped his pants. She could feel his hairy thigh brushing her leg as... he squatted.

Their relationship thus consummated and the pressures of life resolved for now, Prince not so Charming led the next pitch while Not so Snow White patiently belayed next to a new cairn on what I'm sure felt like the smallest ledge on Mount Buffalo. As they rode off into the sunset she could heard to remark "I'm never going climbing again".

The old guidebook entry for Hotel Cal stated something like:
Pitch7 "Head left, then traverse right forever. Change underpants now."
That's Mikl's recommendation for you.
