It is a well known fact that male climbers climb significantly better when:
1) they are shirtless
2) there are females around
3) they are in competition with other male climbers

I should add that there has never been any recorded cases of 1 being false while 2 being true. According to anacdotal(i spel gud) evidence, however, it can happen on a rare occasion.

Assuming (5) the male climber is under the age of 30. Although if the male climber is over the age of 30 chances are (6) no self respecting female is within miles anyway...
