I still reckon it's cenotaph corner

Yes - but I reckon anyone who did the first ascent should be banned from naming the photos!

If the first ascent is over two decades ago, then I think first ascentionists should still be allowed to play given that they probably have Alzheimers to contend with.

A tricky one...

Two part question: What is this one called and how was it formed?

I don't think its Dogface, too featured. It looks like a microscope photo.......perhaps a super close up of a chipped hold?

How was it formed?.........I assume Mikl made it.

No. It's in China, near Chengdu. You can bivy in the bottom cave. I got spanked on the third pitch. I don't recall seeing the two green arrows, god damn retro-arrowers, they spoil everything.

it looks like hard sedimentary rock which is brittle enough to fail by concoidal fractures.

Normally the bands have horizontal weaknesses between them so they don't get large scale fracturing like this, so the entire strata is strong.

Maybe it's a limestone where water has percolated through and glued everything together?

LMFAO!

ODH is on the right track but it's not a chipped hold. Although, I'd expect Mikl to know...

The route follows a crack on the cross section of an alloy biner under a microscope.

Is it a cross section of bone or teeth?

It's vehicle tracks in the mud and those indentations are tasmanian tiger footprints.

Must be a burnt log at the pines!

Ok its an electron microscope image of mangalloy (alloy of steel and manganese). The indentations are from microscopic tasmanian tigers.

Must be remains of burnt pines that cooked Tasmanian tigers.....

Shortman got it anyway, but as he's not posting I'll keep the momentum up.
