Chris has an extreme positive ape factor. I had a play on the bottom section just left of the ladder stash. The first bit to the head wall, was excellent gusty go for it dyno moves - I was in runners with no crash pad so I wimped out before the chalk heading left.

That was George, he mentioned that he introduced himself a while back, he owns the 'Black Range' property. George has been climbing for a while (he is 83 this year).
You would never think from looking at him that he has been around that long.

I will be heading up to Gibralter Peak with the wife for a bit of Canberra sport climbing!!!!

No it wasn't. It was some short haired blond bloke in his early late twenties or early thirties. I believe he is the chef at the Bungendore Hotel. He's the guy who did the bolting at that small crag near Pejar Dam, between Goulburn and Crookwell. Apparently he used to live in Goulburn

What's that? I'm thinking possum? so so cute. Still think all out wombats are cuter but not very good as pets as far as I understand plus they are bloody heavy. x

Nope. It's generally illegal to have Aussie Natives (particularly mammals) as pets. I suspect it's to stop the poaching trade.

Hi all!!

Stoked to be back in the Solomons. No climbing yet as my gear hasn't arrived, but should be settled in to our house in a few weeks and I can start scouting around. Sorry for not replying to emails / PMs etc before we left as I was as busy as a one armed climber in an indoor climbing comp. Sorry Ads for missing Black Range but was way too busy. I'll keep you all posted and get some photos up in the near future.

Nope, it's a 3 month old possum called Sophie, her mother was performing gymnastics on a power transformer and forgot the electricians rule of one paw in pocket.

She is being hand raised an will be released back into the wilds of the Canberra suburbs to eat your dog and cat food, tap dance on your car roof and to top it off urinate on your Barbie.

You sort of will have one when you move in - they are in most old houses' roofs here.

yeah in a cage maybe in my roof not so much. Outside my old room at my parents house there is still a pigeon that lives behind the satellite dish - I had forgot all about him but he's still there cooing away - after a while though it's quite relaxing... I hope the tap dancing possum doesn't bite. x

Possums are everywhere, Im in the Sydney Suburbia, ie Hills district and we had 2 in our roof not long ago....had to find were they got in etc and install one way traps doors so once they went out at night they didnt come back. Problem with them is there wee apparently is very thick and mollases like and they pee in the one spot..sooner or later you get a surprise dripping through the roof..apparently quite disgusting. Now we just hear them running across our roof at night which is much better.

Not as bad as our next door neighbour though, they opened the outside laundry door to put the rubbish out last night and a baby red belly decided to use the time to come inside..glad I was at the climbing gym when they rushed next door to our place to ask what to do....my wife had to deal with it...who manged to somehow get it back outside....they are not as cute as a baby possum apparently.

I suppose that means you aren't going to Sydney , in May, for work anymore.

Looks like I'll have to hunt you down to get that beer.

I have a couple reasons to get to Sydney on my own. Your beer is one of them. Trying out some of your chossy crumbling sandstone is another.

There may be some small amount of stress attached to not knowing what is going to happen, Sarah. But look at kind of climbing I enjoy most. Compare this small stress with the bleak confusion and hopelessness every Monday morning as I make the transition from the crag to my loathsome job.

Life is good today and Monday it will still be good.
