Sport Climbing in the Gramps?

I'm not that keen on the "dark ages" reference either. I like the Grampians ethic of minimal fixed gear. Having said that I also really enjoy visiting the small handfull of sport crags.
At the end of the day though, Victoria isn't the best place to go sport climbing. Visit the Blue Mountains or Nowra if you want to exclusively climb on bolts.

Well since the latest management plan says an approximate of 800,000 park visitors yearly... Neil I am sorry to say but for complete accuracy you will need to quote the management plans estimate with the correct referencing to please some people.

looks like i've been caught napping!

Neil,

your little guide sounds great for those new (and not so new!) to the area.

I'm sure you will write in your own style and look forward to perusing it on its release.

I wonder how many climbers really care how many toursits have been to the Grampians or are that anal as to question the numbers (as to what end)?

Looking throught the Mentz/Tempest series of guides I'm sure that they have exaggerated and one point or another!!!

I try.

But I am prepared to be confrontational if it is required. In this case I was just being upfront about it. The Grampians is predominately a trad area both for historical and park status reasons. I didn't see any point in spinning this guy a line. The area's predominately trad with some sport routes. That's how it is.

Whatever. Jac took me to task on Saturday because neither me or you were at the Chockstone gathering. I assured her that I had unavoidable commitments. I hope that you had a reasonable excuse but you are going to get a talking to when you meet her. She was so looking forward to our meeting face to face (and the arguments, fisticuffs etc).

cheers

Kieran

Hi Niel,

Noticed you haven't included anything from Red Rocks. Also you included the 2 dubious climbs at Sportz wall and you mentioned Licorice all Sportz but didn't include it in the description. By the way did you ever go back and tick that one after our sieging efforts last summer?

Also was curious to know if there was any reason you dropped me off the description of Spinal Tap. Not a big issue, just curious.

Catch ya out there some where.

Red Rocks has always been there??!! That is the section which the photo of Spinal Tap is in. Why would you be in the description of the photo? It is of Nick.

Licorice all Sportz is there - just the formatting is stuffed - Mike can you fix it please - it is blended into the route above it called Spoil Sportz. I have not been back to that tough little number. God it was sequency!
