Just a reminder re the original subject of this thread.
Howard is going to have to call the election soon. Some pundits are saying he'll call it this week (probably at half time during the league grand final, so that hopefully nobody hears it).
Thanks to laws recently pushed through by the conservative coalition, once the election is announced, you will have VERY LITTLE TIME to fix up your status on the electoral roll.
First time voters who are not on the roll, or people who have dropped off the roll for any reason, will have to register ON THE DAY that Howard announces the poll.
If your status needs updating, you will also have to fix it quick.
