I've gone back over my posts, and can't find where I said it was a mistake?

It does seem that anthonyk has a similar understanding of the issues involved. The Project for the New American Century was established in 1997 by Robert Kagan and William Kristol and funded by three foundations closely tied to Persian Gulf oil and weapons and defense industries.

List of some of the members of PNAC is interesting.
Dick Cheney Vice President
Donald Rumsfeld Secretary of Defense
I. Lewis Libby Vice President Cheney’s Chief of Staff and Assistant to the Vice President for National Security Affairs.
Aaron Friedberg Vice President Cheney’s deputy National Security advisor
Robert Zoelick US Deputy Secretary of State
Paula Dobriansky Undersecretary of State
Elliott Abrams Deputy National Security Adviser
Frank Gaffney Pentagon's Defense Policy Board
Fred C. Ikle Pentagon's Defense Policy Board
Eliot A. Cohen Pentagon's Defense Policy Board
Henry S. Rowen Pentagon's Defense Policy Board
William J. Bennett Presidential speech writer
Jeb Bush Governor of Florida
Paul Wolfowitz World Bank President
John Bolton Ambassador to the U.N.

"Rebuilding America’s Defenses" is an interesting document written by the PNAC prior to Bush coming to power.

ah yes, and the rest of that line in 2004 was, " ... to keep interest rates low for families".

Anyone read the news this morning?

I haven't since the 9.30 Reserve Bank meeting, but by that I am to guess my mortgage interest rate has just gone up again?

The Reserve Bank announced a 0.25 percentage point increase in interest rates this morning to 6.5 per cent putting further pressure on Australia's mortgage belt and Prime Minister John Howard's election campaign.

The latest increase, which will add about $50 a month to the average $250,000 home loan, is the ninth in succession since May 2002.

Ninth or fifth?
...Whatever; ... it still makes it more difficult to pay off a mortgage.

I heard on ABC radio yesterday that an average of 50 homes per week (in Victoria alone), were being repossessed due to mortgage defaulters, and on ABC radio this morning some polly was stating that in his electorate (I did not catch where), feedback he received from Real Estate persons was that 20% of all houses sold there this year were the result of mortgage defaulting.

Scary stuff when one considers the 'whole of Aust'. picture ...

Is that a loan for a single bedroom apartment in a housing commission block in the outer burbs? :-)
