Yes, mine is definitely a rotary hammer drill ... it is still very slow ... maybe 10-15 minutes per hole, regularly blowing out the dust. Using guide holes more than halves the time, although changing bits would be impossible on a lead.

10-15 minutes from a rotary hammer? something is very wrong.

Nah thats just a standard hammer dril tony, I used both types and your right...a standard hammer takes that long. When i used one, I driolled a pilot 8mm hole first, then follwed up with the proper hole, which normally saved ya 5 mins.

hmm.. with the wedge and feather technique you could make new crack climbs.. but you might end up taking half the wall with you

hey instead of placing bolts you just whack a few split points in the rock and get a nice nut placement seam top to bottom. voila!
