Something to think about when deep water soloing. (They use naughty language, so turn the sound down if you dont like the word f'uck).

told ya snowsliding was the worst thing for my climbing!! just had another freakin rad roadtrip to jindy for the weekend with 3 mates, involved much alcohol & some rails & some stylin retro handplants & some rock-drops & some hiking & a surprising amount of top-notch pow. also involved a conventiently located heinous patch of solid ice & a lot of speed & my shoulder.

not cool.
no idea how long, but certainly a while before i can crank...
on a good note though, it was my right shoulder. cus im goofy that means i can still do my favourite grab (stalefish), still do cork spins & rodeos (cus i land on my left shoulder if i f*ck up) and still do mad retro handplants haha

hip hooray, physio reckons its only an AC sprain. 6 weeks off. which seems like a long time but when i did some number crunching through my 'doctors dont know what theyre talking about' machine, i came up with 'you will be back on a snowboard in 4 days, and climbing next week'

It's all a matter of perspective and context Steph ;-) ....what if conditions were really squally, freezing, drenched, muddy, sleeting, stormy, torrential, etc etc ...I'd say the gym too ;-p

nah i'd take outdoors over the gym ANY day. Sliding down Ali's at araps in pissing down rain was some of the best fun i've had (although i didn't admit it at the time)...

Plus, hanging in a hammock or bumming at the pub still counts as climbing so theoretically you can climb in all conditions :D

Once upon a time, I would've said the same thing Steph - but for some, old age changes perspective (i.e. tolerance to the elements ;-p)

Old age at 31 ???
(shakes head in disbelief) ...

It is all about attitude.
... I still enjoy the 'weather', my bivvys etc
(& epics heh, heh, heh).

Heh, heh, heh. Looks like the drought and old age catch up with all of us except those that have 'passed over' eh Ghost?
Thanks anyway as I am considering changing it, but have something more Aussie iconic in mind ...

I see that passing over has not changed your disposition Hex and it is good to see some things remain consistent, as I generally enjoy your ramblings!
